Studio Policies and FAQ
This is how the studio works and what to expect if you come in. If we're working remotely, the visiting section won't apply to you, so skip down to the questions.
Visiting the Studio
The Cat Mansion is a private residential studio in southwest Fort Collins, off Harmony Road near Johnson Elementary. Sessions are by appointment. I'll send the address and directions once your session is booked.
The studio is downstairs, and the way in is a flight of steps. If that's a problem, tell me before you book and we'll sort out what works.
Sessions are for the people working on the project. If you want to bring someone along, clear it with me first. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian with them for the whole session.
No alcohol, cannabis, or other intoxicants in the studio, legal or not. Smoking and vaping happen outside.
Bringing your own instruments? Check with me first, because not everything fits, and you'll be hauling it down a flight of stairs yourself. Make sure your gear is insured. My insurance doesn't cover your instruments.
Questions
Do you use AI?
No. I don't use generative AI to make music, and I don't use your music to train it. The Cat Mansion exists to help humans express themselves, not to feed machine-learning systems. I also don't knowingly work on AI-generated material, so when you send me tracks, I'll ask you to confirm a person made them. If you're looking to generate music with AI, this isn't the right studio.
How do revisions work?
Every project includes a set number of revision rounds, spelled out before we start. Most clients use one. Very few need more than two. If you want more than we agreed to, that can run extra.
Can I work remotely?
Yes. Plenty of clients never come in. Send me your files and we'll work over the internet, with real-time listening when we need it.
Will you share my music?
Sometimes, and never anything unreleased without your say-so. I like promoting the work I do, so I may mention that a project was made here. I won't post your unreleased music, or photos of you in the studio, without asking first.
